Anki & darko’s partnership was a great fit right from the start. It began with the unique design of a larger than life Cozmo in-aisle solution that transformed the brands exposure from a traditional representation on shelf to an interactive experience. Anki’s mission is to “bring objects to life through robotics and artificial intelligence accessible, allowing people to build relationships with technology that feel a little more human.” Anki creates “robots that move you.” The work done by darko’s creative, engineering & technical teams did just that, a solution that connects with shoppers emotionally by bringing Cozmo’s personality to the forefront.

With a focus on the consumer and the overall CX, the Cozmo display was intended to attract, connect, educate, and validate for the shopper.

Attract –  An oversized model of Cozmo with his bright yellow, white & black hues was combined with motion sensor lighting, to capture shoppers’ attention, gaining exposure for the brand & the emerging STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) category

Connect – to foster emotion and purchase influence, darko’s in-house tech team collaborated with Anki’s coders, animators & engineers to integrate Cozmo’s various eye movements onto an LCD screen as part of the solution.  This element showcased the robot’s diverse moods & expressions.

Educate – LED controls were employed to allow shoppers to interact at the POS.  Videos enabled shoppers to further explore Cozmo, his countless features and his captivating personality.

Validate – The informational content and showcasing of an out of box Cozmo were Incorporated to ensure shoppers would be confident with their  in-store purchase decisions.

darko’s imaginative designs, innovative technology and in-field roll-out support for this program led to expanded collaborations with Anki. A Walmart execution for Cozmo and the launch of their “domestic” robot Vector in Best Buy U.S. & Canada were initiated for the 2018 holiday shopping season.
